The Green River (Desolation /Gray Canyons)

Karin running Wire Fence Rapid, about 4000 cfs, entering from the right side. This rapid marks the beginning of the five mile or so division between Desolation and Gray canyons. Downstream about 1/4 mile, toward the right, is Three Fords Rapid - a straightforward Class 3 drop with two large holes. Powell nearly lost a man there during his 1869 expedition. Wire Fence is a Class 2 rapid.  Spetember 1998
