The Colorado River - Ruby and Horsethief Canyons   

Karin's kayak (the Madness 2) parked at our lunch spot, second day on the river. Just above the river level, on the right side of the photo, you can see the railroad tracks that follow the entire run. The only major detraction from complete solitude this run, the railroad keeps its own schedule and runs pretty much anytime of the day or night. You do get used to it, and it helps that the best camping is on the other side of the river anyway.  July 1989.
